Hello Residents! I'm so thrilled for it to be Officially SPRING!
I don't know about you, but these couple of months where the hot weather teases our skin, and not to mention our Pool Plaza, into believing we've got some great weather coming our way. Well, we all know that it's going to be all ups and downs until about Mid June, so we better keep some of that cooler weather gear out, just in case.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt and Outdoor movie! It really was a fantastic event with a truly stupendous turnout! If you haven't been redeemed of some of your prizes, please see me and I'll be more than happy to help you out!

The Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance

We are currently seeking weekday morning and afternoon volunteers as many have left to go back to school after the Holidays. We are so busy with this cold weather, capping out every night at nearly 400 residents. We are looking for people to help out in the kitchen, at the welcome desk and in intake! Please see me for volunteer opportunities.
For Love of the Lake
is an organization of energetic people dedicated to conservation and preservation of White Rock Lake. With it's Centennial coming up at the end of this year, a new spill way, jogging trail, little league fields, we are in more need than ever to have people help us clean up the lake shore on Saturday Mornings. I'm looking for some people to sign up and help me out on April 10 for the Second Saturday Shoreline Spruce up! To find out more, please see me!

Dallas International Film Festival Opening Night at the Angelika
7:45 PM, Angelika Film Center, Mockingbird Station
The 2010 Dallas International Film Festival is finally here, and we’re starting in unprecedented fashion with the largest movie night in Texas.
Tonight we welcome more than 1,600 film lovers as the Festival takes over all eight screens at the Angelika Film Center and hosts a Gala with events throughout Mockingbird Station.
That’s just the beginning. Stars and photographers will flock to the Red Carpet, and you can watch from the theater’s steps. You’ll hear from the filmmakers as they introduce their movies. And we’ll present the DALLAS Star Award to one of the leading lights of Mexican cinema, Pedro Infante, with the Mexican Consulate and members of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in attendance.
Neighborhood Night at the Hotel Zaza
5 PM to Close, Dragonfly at the Hotel Zaza, 2332 Leonard
Come to the Hotel Zaza For a Night of no judgement, no pretension, and no dress code. Sample some signature drinks and appetizers for just $5!
Yeasayer at the Granada Theatre
8 PM, Granada Theatre, 3524 Greenville Ave.
Since their CD Debut of "All Hour Cymbals" and an appearance at SXSW, Yeasayer has been an international sensation. Hip enough to be considered Sonic Experiemental but comfortable enough to still roam with the Pop Divas and Princes, these guys will give you a trippy, exhilarating experience. Don't believe me, download their single "Sunrise".
They Never Sleep/White Drugs
9 PM, The Cavern, 1914 Greenville
White Drugs feel like someone is spraying a flamethrower through your parietal lobe. After interaction with White Drugs, your face will feel numb, your arms gooey, your brain flattened by a barrage of the best beyond-punk North Texas has to offer. White Drugs are sometimes criticized for being derivative. So fucking what? White Drugs will kill you. (*Written by Joanna Widner)
